The U.S. State Department announced the extension of the ceasefire between Turkey and the Syrian Democratic Forces around Manbij city until the end of this week.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller explained that his country mediated the initial truce agreement last week, confirming continued communication with both parties to extend the ceasefire for as long as possible.

Miller emphasized the need to avoid exploiting the unstable situation to achieve narrow interests at the expense of broader Syrian national interests.

Simultaneously, Syrian Democratic Forces commander Mazloum Abdi proposed establishing a demilitarized zone in Kobani, with security forces redeployment under American supervision.

The U.S. State Department expressed understanding of Turkish concerns regarding PKK threats and foreign fighters, affirming its pursuit of forming an inclusive Syrian government representing all ethnic components.

The State Department noted Coalition forces' participation in mediation efforts, with long-term mechanisms in place to avoid escalation in coordination with Turkey and ensure the safety of U.S. forces operating in the region.

More than 100 high school students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the hackathon, which featured an intensive programme of training workshops and hands-on sessions. These activities were tailored to enhance participants’ critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building capabilities, while also encouraging the development of practical and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges using modern technological tools.
